Lebanon.Junieh

 This coastal village located at 15km North of Beirut contains a considerable number of fine old houses and beautiful gardens terraced on the steep wooden slope of the mountain. Perhaps the most spectacular attraction for the tourist is the Junieh Harissa Teleferic, the first of its kind in the Middle East. By cable car, in 10 minutes the tourist reaches Harissa where stands the very popular “Our Lady of Lebanon”, a famous gigantic statue on a conical pedestal sheltering a chapel. The little terrace at the foot of the statue gives a splendid view of the bay of Junieh and Beirut.
