The making of silk headscarves
The technique employed by Aleppan artisans has five steps:
The natural silk is cut in squares.
The cut silk is dyed upon patterned wood forms.
Designs are then embellished by the printer.
Wooden stamps are applied to add fine details.
The cloth is washed and hung to dry.
